North & West Yorkshire Association for Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus (North & West Yorkshire ASBAH) is a registered charity supporting children, adults and families with hydrocephalus and/or spina bifida in North & West Yorkshire By supporting, informing, and campaigning, North & West Yorkshire ASBAH is continuing to help promote individual choice, control, and quality of life for all the people who use our services. We work in partnership with Shine which is the national organisation for people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus but we are a charity in our own right with our own charity number and we have to raise our own funds for our work. We are committed to helping and supporting all our service users, whether this is through planning social and recreational events, or providing up to date information and education to our members. We originally started out as the Leeds Association in 1966 primarily as a parent organisation and we became a registered charity in 1967. Our registered charity number is 252129.

People in Action (Yorkshire) is a thriving Leeds based charity, established in 1983 to benefit people with learning disabilities and autism. The charity makes a real difference to the lives of the most vulnerable and socially isolated; inspiring and empowering people to recognise their potential, fulfil their aspirations and lead safer healthier, better connected lives. The charity provides a range of innovative, inclusive, person centered services which reflect the needs of the people it supports. We deliver groups and 1:1 support for people aged 18+

Additional Needs Playgroup Sport Stay n Play Youth Clubs

The Parent Carer service at Carers Leeds offers support to anyone caring for a child, up to the age of 19, with a disability, additional needs, or a long-term illness. We offer information, advice and signposting, as well as emotional support. We can offer emotional support either on a one-to-one basis, or through our monthly support groups. We can also help with applying for benefits, form filling, advocacy, and supporting families through other processes such as EHCPs or Early Help Plans. We can take referrals from professionals but people are also welcome to self-refer for our service. Below is a video by @CarersLeeds and @irwinmitchell on how to complete a DLA form. Additional Needs Advice Training

LJWB is a social care charity, providing a range of registered care, community activities, and support for people of all ages. Based in the MAZ Community Centre in LS17, we deliver activities for primary age children and also provide family support for parents/carers of children with additional needs. ‘Together’ SEN Group A fun & social play session for children with additional needs. Sessions provide respite for parents/carers, and we also provide information and parent support sessions alongside the ‘Together’ programme. Sessions are on Sundays between 10-11am at the Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Community Centre. Inclusive Art Group For children /young people aged 8-13 runs on Thursdays 4:00-5.30pm. Children with additional needs are welcome and we ensure high adult to child ratios. Places are limited, and booking is essential. Family Support We provide advice and support for children and families with additional needs. Please contact the Family Support Team on 0113 203 4916 for further information.
