Believe & Achieve Activity Day July 2025

Location: Midlands Arts Centre – Birmingham

When: 20 July 2025, 10 am – 5 pm

Who: 18-25 year olds directly or indirectly affected by meningitis

You asked us for a day which blends connection, support and creativity, so we acted on it! Our newest event for 18-25 year olds, who have a direct or indirect experience of meningitis, promises to deliver all that and more.

You can opt in to take part in a relaxed, informal session led by one of our Helpline nurses, which may help you to navigate life after an experience of meningitis.

We’ll welcome new faces and catch up with those we’ve before over a tasty lunch whilst hearing from one of our trained Peer Mentors.

In the afternoon, we’ll be joined by the groundbreaking Fuse Theatre CiC. Both of Fuse’s acclaimed Artistic Directors, Chris Fonseca and Harry Jardine, had meningitis as babies. We are so excited to have them deliver their flagship Theatre-Making Workshop in a state-of-the-art inclusive performance space.

Perfect for deaf and hearing participants alike, the Fuse workshop is about bold expression, confidence, and collaboration. No prior experience needed – just an open mind and a willingness to play!

You’ll be guided to explore creative physical language, using theatre techniques to help you express ideas beyond words. This will be a dynamic, hands-on experience designed to unlock creativity, confidence and storytelling through movement. By the end of the session, you’ll have created a short piece of physical theatre inspired by a real-life event.

Learn more about Fuse CiC here.

The day is free to attend, and we pay travel expenses up to £100 per person. Please have a chat with the team if you are unable to travel within this budget but would still like to attend.
