Sensory World Is a Sensory Centre with sensory Rooms and offers clubs,Groups and social activities Lego,Gaming Scrabble, Crafts and Jewellery with an onsite cafe. Providing a safe environment for children and adults of all ages (plus parents and carers!) Specialist play equipment designed specifically for babies and children with special needs, particularly those with autism. Individual and group activities for teens and adults. Group bookings from professional organisations welcomed. We are open 7 days a week.

Leeds Mencap is an independent charity providing specialist, practical, emotional and social support to over 600 children and young people with learning disabilities and their families across the city, each year. Our services include: Youth Club for 9-13 year olds and 14-18 year olds: Youth Clubs run on alternate Tuesdays for each age group. They offer children and young people with a learning disability a chance to meet new friends, to get involved in a variety of activities, and to have fun in an environment that is both welcoming and safe. Sibling Support Group: The Siblings Group (Sibs) provides a great place for young people who have a brother or sister with a learning disability to come together and have fun. As well as giving young people the chance to access information, these groups allow them to socialise and meet new friends, and to share their experience of having a brother and sister with a learning disability within a welcoming and supportive environment. There is a statutory requirement for every local area across the country to have a Local Offer for families and children and young people with additional needs, aged 0-25 years, and the practitioners who work with them. The Local Offer includes information on all services and support for health, education and social care for children and young people with additional needs aged 0-25 years of age and the practitioners who work with them. This is the local area offer for Wakefield district. It includes: Website Termly Newsletter Social Media sites, and Face to face events

LJWB is a social care charity, providing a range of registered care, community activities, and support for people of all ages. Based in the MAZ Community Centre in LS17, we deliver activities for primary age children and also provide family support for parents/carers of children with additional needs. ‘Together’ SEN Group A fun & social play session for children with additional needs. Sessions provide respite for parents/carers, and we also provide information and parent support sessions alongside the ‘Together’ programme. Sessions are on Sundays between 10-11am at the Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Community Centre. Inclusive Art Group For children /young people aged 8-13 runs on Thursdays 4:00-5.30pm. Children with additional needs are welcome and we ensure high adult to child ratios. Places are limited, and booking is essential.
