Based in Bradford, Mind the Gap is England’s leading learning disability performance and live art company. We make bold, world-class performance and live art events. Our Academy provides a range of different theatre training courses for people with learning disabilities and autism to nurture and develop talents and skills. We run a range of courses for students aged 18 plus and a new Youth Theatre starting in October 2023 is for children and young people aged 11 – 19. In partnership with Bradford Council we facilitate a Youth Academy for children aged 8 – 18 years of age through Short Breaks funding. All year round we offer, free taster sessions and work with schools and colleges to create transition opportunities for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism aspiring to a life in the creative arts.

Based in Leeds, Phoenix Dance Theatre is one of the UK’s leading contemporary dance companies. Each year the professional company embarks on national tours, presenting dance productions to audiences throughout the UK and beyond. Phoenix Dance Theatre’s aim is to create dynamic, diverse and relevant work that embodies the company’s rich Caribbean history and shines a light on cultural narratives. Our Learning & Development department is committed to providing opportunities for all through provisions which range from Saturday School, Illuminate Dance programmes, Youth Academies, schools’ packages and performance led projects. Illuminate is our specialist dance provision for young people aged 6-25 with additional needs. Illuminate provides much needed access to dance for the young people of Leeds. Families are at the heart of Illuminate, it is built for and with the community, to meet key areas of need for the families we engage with. Our main offering is two dance classes on a Saturday afternoon. These are split into ages 6-13 and 14-25. We provide experienced staff, specialised in working with a wide range of needs. North & West Yorkshire Association for Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus (North & West Yorkshire ASBAH) is a registered charity supporting children, adults and families with hydrocephalus and/or spina bifida in North & West Yorkshire By supporting, informing, and campaigning, North & West Yorkshire ASBAH is continuing to help promote individual choice, control, and quality of life for all the people who use our services. We work in partnership with Shine which is the national organisation for people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus but we are a charity in our own right with our own charity number and we have to raise our own funds for our work. We are committed to helping and supporting all our service users, whether this is through planning social and recreational events, or providing up to date information and education to our members. We originally started out as the Leeds Association in 1966 primarily as a parent organisation and we became a registered charity in 1967. Our registered charity number is 252129.
