The Luminate groups includes, Leeds City College, Keighley College, Harrogate College, Leeds College Of Music, and White Rose Academies Trust. Working with people from the age of 11 upwards.

Leeds Mencap is an independent charity providing specialist, practical, emotional and social support to over 600 children and young people with learning disabilities and their families across the city, each year. Our services include: Youth Club for 9-13 year olds and 14-18 year olds: Youth Clubs run on alternate Tuesdays for each age group. They offer children and young people with a learning disability a chance to meet new friends, to get involved in a variety of activities, and to have fun in an environment that is both welcoming and safe. Sibling Support Group: The Siblings Group (Sibs) provides a great place for young people who have a brother or sister with a learning disability to come together and have fun. As well as giving young people the chance to access information, these groups allow them to socialise and meet new friends, and to share their experience of having a brother and sister with a learning disability within a welcoming and supportive environment. Friday Club for 18-25 year olds: Friday Club is an evening social group for adults aged 18-25 with learning disabilities. An online support group for parents who have children with additional needs run from a private parents only Facebook Group. Founded 6 years ago by Claire Harwood this now supports over 1000 members ( only parents allowed as members) across the Bradford District. We provide a forum for mutual support, sign posting to organisations and charities. Key focus on parent self care activities / things to do for families and connection.

Contact a Family is a National Charity supporting families of children with disabilities throughout their journey, from birth – 25 years. We are an information, guidance and advice charity offering help and support across a wide range of issues that families encounter from Health, Education, Finances and Benefits, Family issues, equipment, grants, legal aspects etc. Our team of specialist trained experts that staff our help desk supporting families with queries at times of need ; and we also have parent advisors that work in the regions supporting families with workshops, events, support groups etc.
