ABC Leeds is a voluntary support group for families who have children or young people with or without a diagnosis of autism/Asperger syndrome. We offer advice and support on any issues concerning or surrounding autism and do this via monthly drop in at Leeds Central Library, monthly evening meetings, Facebook, twitter, email or the telephone and a monthly information sheet that advertises not only what we do as a group but whatever is happening in and around autism in Leeds.

Every 30 minutes, a child or young person will acquire a brain injury. This could be the result of an accident, an illness such as meningitis or encephalitis, a poisoning, a stroke or a brain tumour. A brain injury has a devastating and life-long impact on the child and their whole family. Bones can mend and scars can heal but a brain injury stays with you for life and impacts on everything you think, feel and do. The Child Brain Injury Trust is the charity that supports children, young people, their families and professionals and helps them come to terms with what has happened and how to deal with the uncertainty that the future may hold. We are the charity people turn to about childhood acquired brain injury.

I am the Community Partner for Leeds. My work is all about finding out; What is good about living in Leeds if you have a learning disability? How can we make it better? Using the ABCD approach, I am working with multiple local organisations to try and help make Leeds an even better place for people with Learning Disabilities.

SWAN UK is the only dedicated support network for families of children with undiagnosed genetic conditions. Approximately 6,000 children are born in the UK each year with a syndrome without a name – a genetic condition so rare that it is often impossible to diagnose. Without a diagnosis it can be difficult to access basic information and support. We have information leaflets below which are available to download. We are developing leaflets in further languages and these will also be available to download once they are completed.
