Join Communication Matters for a special evening of celebration at the AAC Awards 2023. Hosted at the University of Leeds on the 24th of March 2023 the awards ceremony will include a drinks reception, dinner, as well as the announcement of the winners of the ten award categories. Made With Music are doing a mini-gig at Brudenell Social Club on Sunday 5th February, and there are 3 amazing acts lined up for you! The doors will open at 12pm and the first act will be 12.30pm. For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world. We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our experts offer personalised support through our centres, holidays and short breaks, or in people’s own homes. We are here for everyone who needs us, for as long as they need us – providing early intervention for children, helping young people access education, and supporting the transition into adulthood and beyond. In addition to practical support, we also offer information to families, and campaign for the rights of people with complex disabilities to take part in life. We currently provide short breaks services in West Yorkshire for Children with additional needs. We are also providing a summer holiday club for 2 weeks in August.

NLY Community Sport

NLY Community Sport is a not-for-profit organisation based in Yorkshire, which was established in September 2017 by James Grayson and Connor Rollinson. We provide sports coaching to adults and children with disabilities and learning difficulties from all walks of life. Currently we have over 60 participants across our sessions. The organisation is built on solid values. We believe in the power of sport to inspire people, irrespective of their social or economic background. We aim to increase our participants’ confidence and social skills, and help them build new friendships/relationships. We also aim to combat social isolation and loneliness, as well as enabling our participants to develop their physical and communication skills. We also want our participants to enjoy sporting achievement. We currently run five Disability Football teams across Yorkshire – Pontefract Pirates (Adult and Juniors) South Yorkshire Superheroes (Juniors) Nostell Miners Welfare DFC (Adults) Selby Disability Football Club (Adults)

Tree of Hope is a children’s charity that supports families to raise vital funds for specialist care, not available through the NHS, for their sick and disabled children.
