DEX Deaf Experience

Deaf EXperience Limited (DEX) is a charity which campaigns nationally to improve access to education, wellbeing and quality of life for deaf and hard of hearing young people. We support deaf young people across Yorkshire to meet other young deaf people and to share their experiences. We welcome young people with any level of deafness and all communication methods. We deliver a variety of events where deaf young people can have fun, learn something new and meet others! We have two different groups. The DEX Deaf Youth Hub (DDYH) is for 11 to 17 year old’s and the DEX Deaf Youth Council (DDYC) is for 17 to 30 year old’s. Interpreters are at all events to help everyone to chat and make friends! Do you work with deaf young people aged between 11 and 30? Are you based in Yorkshire? We can come to your school, college or organization to deliver a FREE outreach session to explain what we offer for deaf young people! We also offer Deaf Awareness training for organizations, companies, care homes and other youth facilities

Bradford Children’s Services 0-25 Specialist Teaching & Support Service (STASS)

Bradford Council through Children’s Services, Education and Learning provides a range of specialist teaching and support services to schools and Private, Voluntary and Independent Early Years settings as part of its offer and statutory duties for children and young people aged 0-25 years with special educational needs and disabilities.The Low Incidence team are a team of specialist teachers and support workers, instructors, habilitation officers, audiologists and technical officers who provide specialist teaching and support and outreach work to children and young people who are / have: Visual impairment Hearing impairment Multi-sensory impairment Physical needs We also manage specialist provision for children who are deaf, vision impaired or multi-sensory impaired in the Local Authority led Resourced Provisions: Grove House Primary School (VI) Swain House Primary School (Deaf) Girlington Primary School (Deaf) Hanson Delta Academy (Deaf and VI)

We are a charity that works to increase social inclusion for people who face exclusion due to any form of disability. We promote inclusion through the provision of activities in green spaces and other indoor and outdoor day trips and events. We also host community projects which include events with an arts, nature, history or conservation focus. We also have a CIC side which supports independence and boosts confidence with Active travel support and provision of wheelchair skills courses.
