About this event
SENDIASS are planning a parent/carer workshop on supporting Social Emotional and Mental Health needs of children and young people. The next dates are Monday 31st January and Wednesday 2nd February 2022, 9.30AM-12.30PM, you will need to attend both dates to get the most out of this workshop. The workshop is open to both existing and new service users and will be delivered by SENDIASS caseworkers in partnership with specialists in SEMH from Bradford Council Specialist Teaching and Support Service (STASS).
The workshops will cover:
• What is SEMH?
• Where to go for support?
• What you can expect from school.
• The legal framework and your rights
• A toolkit of strategies and resources to help you support your child’s needs both at home and school.
You do not have to have a diagnosis of any medical condition to access this workshop, we will be covering a broad range of needs – please note that whilst we welcome all families the course is not specific to ASD and some of the strategies given may be less suited to neurodiverse conditions such as PDA. You are welcome to attend and join the discussion however further specialist advice may be required.
The workshop will be online via zoom and we will send full instructions out on how to access nearer to the time.
