Our Annual General Meeting will be held online on 26th May at 8pm.
We have sent all of the relevant information to our voting members but it is a public meeting so everyone is welcome to attend. If you are not a voting member you won’t be able to vote on any nominations for the Board of Trustees. If you did want to attend or if you wish to become a voting member please email ailith@sunshineandsmiles.org.uk and we can send you all of the relevant information.
At our AGM last year we discussed our desire to recruit a number of Trustees to our Board via a recruitment process; to widen the diversity of our Trustee group and also look to include a Trustee who has Down syndrome.
Sadly, due to the Coronavirus pandemic many of our aspirations for this past year have had to be put on hold and we have not been able to undertake this recruitment process nor set up our participation group for young people with Down syndrome. These pieces of work are very much at the forefront of our minds as restrictions ease and we begin to get back to running Sunshine & Smiles in a way that we are more familiar with and we hope to create a job description and application form for the Trustee roles in the very near future.
At this AGM, as is required in line with our constitution of 1/3 of our Trustee board to resign at each AGM, Katie Kelly will be resigning as Trustee. As she has now served the maximum of 7 terms with us (thank you Katie!) she will not be standing for re-election. We are not seeking to fill this Trustee role at this time as it will be included in the recruitment process described above.
Emma Henson will also be resigning as Trustee -Secretary, with the intention of seeking re-election to the Board of Trustees, anyone else is permitted to request to be nominated to this role- relevant nomination papers can be sent out to you – please email ailith@sunshineandsmiles.org.uk.
Voting will all take place via email for this year and voting information and details will be sent out to voting members nearer to the meeting date.
