Following on from our consultation process we are proposing to set up regular information & support sessions for parents & carers – these will run every half term and we will have regular guests from relevant organisations in Leeds but we will also be guided by you as to what support and information would be useful.
We propose that the sessions will run on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening at 21 Co. in Headingley from 7.00pm – 8.30pm and there will be an option to join the session online.
This is all new for us so we are very open to suggestions about how these sessions will work best – but we felt it was best to at least make a start!
Our first session will be in conjunction with SENSAP – the Special Educational Needs Statutory Assessment & Provision team on 18th May 2022.

We will be focusing on supporting families who are making the transition to secondary school in 2023.
We will share the most up to date guide on the different types of secondary school provision in Leeds and the surrounding areas and explain what the different types of provision mean.
SENSAP will give information about the timescales and the process for requesting a school place for pupils with special educational needs into a secondary setting.
If your child does not currently have an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) and they are moving into secondary school in 2023 it would be advisable to speak to your school Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator about this as soon as possible.
This information session will be followed by a second session in the coming weeks with the SENDIASS – Special Educational Needs & Disability Information Advice & Support Service on the same topic.
