Irwin Mitchell are holding a live webinar for families to provide coping strategies during lockdown and the upcoming summer holidays for parents of disabled children on 10th July 2020 at 1.00pm.
Schools are closed, therapists and carers aren’t able to visit and assist vulnerable children with complex needs, many of whom are shielding, and carer parents are isolated with children demonstrating progressively more challenging behaviour. How do you structure your day? How do you encourage physical activity? How can you involve the whole family? How do you make it fun?
We’re hosting a webinar panel discussion with experts in education, neuropsychology, physiotherapy and occupational health who will help answer these questions and help advise parents, carers, case managers and anyone else involved with care for a disabled child. We hope the discussion and topics covered will provide a useful resource for individuals and families to access and help with the day to day challenges of looking after children with complex needs during lockdown.
Our expert panel includes:
- Dr Koseen Ford – Neuropsychologist
- Shleena Lee – Deputy Head Teacher, PACE specialist school
- Lindsay Hardy – Occupational therapist, Director of Clinical Services, PACE specialist school
- Holly Garwell – Paediatric Physiotherapist
- Dr Heather Epps – Paediatric Physiotherapist
