SNAPS is on the lookout for a volunteer football coach to join our fantastic team!
Do you have a passion for coaching football? Enjoying working with children? Want to make a difference working with a charity for children with additional needs? Then this is the role for you.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join a small team of football coaches who can volunteer 1.5hrs per week of their time per week to help set up, deliver and tidy up each football session. The sessions run each week on a Sunday morning during term time only at The Hunslet Club in the Summer and indoor Middleton Leisure Centre in the Winter.
We are a relatively new football club but have already had some fantastic results for the children we work with. SNAPS’ Football Club is all about giving children with additional needs the chance to join a sport club and have lots of fun!
THE PERSON
We are looking for someone with an interest in football coaching, experience in coaching is desired but not essential. You will also have an interest in helping children with additional needs fulfil their potential and helping to give them the access to playing football through your coaching.
If you are willing to learn, able to take responsibility and take ownership of tasks and are comfortable running sessions in a team or by yourself then this is the perfect role for you to give something back to children who require that little bit more help to play the game they love.
There may be some administration tasks such as registration of new children, planning the sessions, keeping records up to date and communication with the parents. So if you have basic understanding of administration tasks then this would be preferable.
SNAPS is an open and inclusive charity, so for this role there is no set requirement in terms of age, gender or ethnicity. We just ask that you are energetic, outgoing, are passionate about coaching and working with children with additional needs. If you have the time to volunteer on a weekly basis (during term time) then we want to hear from you.
WHATS IN IT FOR YOU
This rewarding role will enable you to volunteer for a Leeds based charity that helps children with additional needs access sport. You will be able to develop your coaching skills and there is an opportunity to work towards a qualification in “FA Level 1 in Football Coaching” and “FA Coaching Disabled Footballers” if that is something the successful applicant wanted to.
TO APPLY
If you are interested in the volunteer role, please provide an up to date CV and covering letter outlining why you applied for the role and what you can offer and send it to Will Backhouse at will@snapsyorkshire.org by 5pm on Friday 25th September 2020. All successful applicants will need to complete a DBS check and have references carried out.
