Dates for your diary: Our Early Years SEND Coffee Mornings with Stay and Play are BACK from 23rd September. For parents of children aged 0-5 with additional needs. These sessions are free, informal and the perfect opportunity to meet other parents and chat to our family services team! The kettle will be on and our softplay will be open for any attending children! There’s no need to book.

Booking released Wed 5th Oct at 6pm Little Hiccups hire out one of the cinema’s for Little Hiccups families and provide a relaxed showing with reduced lighting and reduced sound. I am currently confirming if this showing comes with subtitles and audio descriptions. If you need these, please mention in the comments. Wakefield Museums and Castles.

We are a museum service of five venues across the Wakefield district: Castleford Museum, Pontefract Castle, Pontefract Museum, Sandal Castle and Wakefield Museum. All our sites are free entry. Get hands-on at our range of creative workshop. Find fun for all the family. Learn something new at our castle tours. Most of our events and activities are free or low-cost. Our three museums have Pick & Mix stations full of tactile tools and resources to support your visit. Each week we have dedicated relaxed openings at our three museum sites. These are usually quieter times to visit the museums: Pontefract Museum: Tuesdays, 2pm to 4pm Wakefield Museum: Thursdays, 4pm – 6.30pm Castleford Museum: 9.30am – 12noon During the school holidays we programme activities for families. ABC Leeds is a voluntary support group for families who have children or young people with or without a diagnosis of autism/Asperger syndrome. We offer advice and support on any issues concerning or surrounding autism and do this via monthly drop in at Leeds Central Library, monthly evening meetings, Facebook, twitter, email or the telephone and a monthly information sheet that advertises not only what we do as a group but whatever is happening in and around autism in Leeds.

Additional Needs Advice
LJWB.

LJWB is a social care charity, providing a range of registered care, community activities, and support for people of all ages. Based in the MAZ Community Centre in LS17, we deliver activities for primary age children and also provide family support for parents/carers of children with additional needs. ‘Together’ SEN Group A fun & social play session for children with additional needs. Sessions provide respite for parents/carers, and we also provide information and parent support sessions alongside the ‘Together’ programme. Sessions are on Sundays between 10-11am at the Marjorie & Arnold Ziff Community Centre. Inclusive Art Group For children /young people aged 8-13 runs on Thursdays 4:00-5.30pm. Children with additional needs are welcome and we ensure high adult to child ratios. Places are limited, and booking is essential. Family Support We provide advice and support for children and families with additional needs. Please contact the Family Support Team on 0113 203 4916 for further information.
