Skiing at Chill Factore

Website: https://www.chillfactore.com

Due to the success of the last couple of skiing events, we will be returning to Chill Factore in Manchester to have another go!

This year, our event has been sponsored by Whitehill Chase Foundation Trust so we are able to offer more! Little Hiccups would like to say a huge thank you for this donation.

Skiing for Beginners

Children (and parents) will be able to have a go at skiiing in the fantastic venue Chill Factore. Chill Factore is proud to be the 2010 winner of the Manchester Tourism ‘Access for All’ award which recognises excellence in accommodating the needs of guests with disabilities. And we could see why on our last visit. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Disability Snowsport UK is a nationwide registered charity, based at Chill Factore and they provide adaptive skiing for individuals with any disability, including physical, sensory and learning difficulties. By using adaptive equipment and specialist instruction and support, they are able to cater for even those with very limited mobility, so we’ll have you whizzing down the slope in no time!

There will be 7 groups of 10 on stand up skis lasting an hour.

Skiing on SitSkis

There are 12 Sitski’s available spaced throughout the day then. The Sitski’s are for the children with severe mobility issues who will be unable to stand in normal skis. They are taken down the hill several times by an Instructor.

Snow Park

  • Ice Slide: Release your inner ‘big kid’ as you tackle the twists and turns of our ice slide.
  • Downhill Donuts: Ride the slope in our large single or double inflatable rubber ring and speed down the Snow Park lanes and race for first place!
  • Sledge ‘n’ Slide: Race your pals to the bottom of our real snow slope.

Refreshments

We will have a rotating hot and cold buffet throughout the day. Details are to be confirmed. When booking please let us know of any dietary requirements.

Booking Details

This event is for 6+. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a paying participating adult (aged 17+) for the Skiing and Snow Park. This is not needed for the Sitskis as children will be taken down the slope by an Instructor. You only need to book a ticket if you are participating. There will be a waiting and watching area for those that are not. You can book for both Skiing and the Snow Park (and obviously the Sitski). Please be aware that both are an hour long. If you book both, I will leave a gap in between so that you have time to warm up and grab some refreshments. It’s not going to be easy to organise the slots but I will do my best to leave only an hour between sessions. Due to the complexities, the only time slot requests I can take, have to be around medical reasons (tube-fed timings / medication timing / etc).

Please bring in the following

  1. Gloves (entry is not allowed without them
  2.  Thick socks
  3. Warm clothing suitable for minus 3 temperatures
  4. Walking boots or Wellington’s (for Snow Park activity)
