A fun run-style event and a fun-filled day for the whole family!

Date: Sunday 26th June 2022

Time: 10.30am – 12.30pm

Cost: £5 per child, adults go free

Venue: John Charles Centre for Sport, Middleton Grove, Belle Isle, Leeds LS11 5DJ

 

Key highlights:

  • Petting zoo, bouncy castle, children’s entertainers, face painting, crafts and more!!
  • The chance to zoom around a 400m athletics track, where children can run, walk or wheel as far as they like!
  • A superhero cape to wear while zooming around the track, goodie bag and medal!

 

Voluntary sponsorship target: £46 – this amount could sponsor a SNAPS session.

 

Even more reasons to sign up:

  1. Each child will feel like a superhero for the day as they are clapped and cheered along the track to the finish line where they are presented with their special medal.
  2. ‘Special guests’ taking part on the day will give children the chance to meet real life superhero’s & other famous faces!
  3. There will be children’s entertainers and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
  4. SNAPS’ football coaches will be leading taster sessions for children to have a go at a new sport.

Kidz Aware is not-for-profit charity/ social enterprise with 3 core values at our heart: Equality; Inspiring; Embracing. We exist to ensure that all children and adults with a disability have the opportunities to achieve their aspirations in life. We understand first-hand what it means to be a family caring for a disabled child: Gillian Archbold created Kidz Aware in 2006 after her experience of fundraising for medical treatment for her own disabled child, Sabrina. Despite successfully raising the funds required, Sabrina was not able to undergo the treatment and therefore Gillian gifted the money to other disabled children who were suitable for treatments that the NHS could not provide. It was through this experience that Gillian recognised the need for a charity that could support the families of disabled children/Adults and that’s what Kidz Aware has been doing ever since. Gillian and Sabrina still run Kidz Aware together. We believe that everyone can make a valuable contribution to society, but people with disabilities face greater challenges. SNOOP (Special Needs Objective Outreach Project)

SNOOP is a registered charity based in Eccleshill in Bradford, West Yorkshire and working across the whole of the Bradford Metropolitan District, including Bradford, Keighley, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven. We have been pleased to support families of children and adults with SEND/autism and disabilities for the last 24 years. We operate from a purpose built centre, with fantastic facilities and is fully accessible. SNOOP provides the following services and support for children with SEND, adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and their parent/carers: After School Clubs Children’s holiday play schemes 3-16 years Adults day services and activities – 16-45 years Adults Social Group Preparation for Adulthood sessions and support planning for parent carers Youth Club SEND nursery providing early education funded places for 2,3 and 4 year olds Founded by the 2 Carols, we have an established reputation for quality and high standard of care and support and are sought externally for respresentation of the voice of young people and parent/carers of people with SEND and learning disabiilties and consultants in learning disabilility. We are very pleased to be part of the WYCANN network to share information and knowledge to enable and empower parent/carers as much as is possible.
