A fun run-style event and a fun-filled day for the whole family!

Date: Sunday 26th June 2022

Time: 10.30am – 12.30pm

Cost: £5 per child, adults go free

Venue: John Charles Centre for Sport, Middleton Grove, Belle Isle, Leeds LS11 5DJ

 

Key highlights:

  • Petting zoo, bouncy castle, children’s entertainers, face painting, crafts and more!!
  • The chance to zoom around a 400m athletics track, where children can run, walk or wheel as far as they like!
  • A superhero cape to wear while zooming around the track, goodie bag and medal!

 

Voluntary sponsorship target: £46 – this amount could sponsor a SNAPS session.

 

Even more reasons to sign up:

  1. Each child will feel like a superhero for the day as they are clapped and cheered along the track to the finish line where they are presented with their special medal.
  2. ‘Special guests’ taking part on the day will give children the chance to meet real life superhero’s & other famous faces!
  3. There will be children’s entertainers and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
  4. SNAPS’ football coaches will be leading taster sessions for children to have a go at a new sport.

Leeds Weekenders Care Association

LWCA is a charity, established since 1998 which exists to provide short breaks for children and young people with additional needs. There are 2 projects within Leeds Weekend Care Association. Weekenders Club/Teen Scene: Is a play scheme operating from Vine Education Centre in Leeds 6. We are open Saturdays, 47 weekends per year. Children and young people who attend Weekenders Club/Teen Scene can access the club once for 3hrs every four weeks. Our ½-day sessions are 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. or 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 pm. When a child is allocated a group, this group stays the same for each visit. Our staffing level is one staff member/volunteer to one child/young person. All of our staff are experienced and well trained and work alongside dedicated volunteers to enhance the service we provide.​ We provide drinks and snacks at each session, but you are welcome to bring your own. Vine is a venue that provides safe outdoor space, large indoor spaces and personal care suites.​ There are lots of resources for children and young people, including a bouncy castle, a ball pool, adapted bikes and sensory equipment. Leeds SENDIASS is impartial, confidential, and arm’s length from the Local Authority and schools and settings. It is a free and accessible service for young people and parents/carers of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Leeds SENDIASS involves parents/carers, children and young people in discussions and decisions about their individual support. Leeds SENDIASS will work with parents/carers children and young people to ensure that they are fully involved in the planning of SEN support for their individual needs in early years settings, schools and colleges.
