SNAPS (Special Needs and Parent Support Yorkshire CIO) is a Leeds based charity. Every Saturday in term time we provide hydrotherapy, rebound therapy and play for children with additional needs, and encourage the whole family to come along for some proper play time together. We have two sites in Leeds – Penny Field Special Inclusive Learning Centre in Meanwood, North Leeds, and Broomfield SILC in Belle Isle, South Leeds.

SNAPS has successfully managed an expansion programme over the last five years, growing from providing 100 x 20 minutes therapy sessions in a school term to 500 sessions, and adding the second site. The charity has ambitious plans for the future, and we are recruiting for a Trustee vacancy on our busy Board, which meets 7 times each year. This is an excellent development opportunity to join a successful charity with a very good standard of governance, and a first class team delivering a much needed service across the City and beyond.

Ideally our new Trustee will be someone with a business or professional background, and we are also interested to hear from anyone from BAME and other under-represented communities, as we look to more fully reflect our service users and their families. Interviews will be carried out by a small panel of Trustees using agreed criteria. An invitation to join the Board will be subject to references and a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
