ASAS Residential Short Breaks

Residential Short Breaks

Aireborough Supported Activities Scheme organise between 5 & 8 residential short breaks per year. The first of these takes place in Spring and the last in Autumn. We cater for children & young people aged  8 years to 18th birthday, who have additional needs.

ASAS Activity Day

Activity Day

ASAS also run Activity Days for children aged 8-18 years who live throughout Leeds Centre Based – these take place at Lineham Farm Children’s Centre and are aimed at children who prefer a less structured and busy environment; activities include animal care, climbing wall, adapted bikes, Sensory Caravan and walks in the countryside. Community Based – these take place in Kirkstall at the Leisure complex and are aimed at children who can cope with an organised programme of activities and cope better with busy and noisy environments; activities include bowling, lunch in a restaurant and cinema to see a film.​

Playscheme

ASAS run play schemes for children and young people with additional needs* during the Easter and Summer holidays and a Christmas Activity Day in December, these are only for children aged 5-18 years, who live in the Aireborough area of Leeds (LS5, 16, 18, 19 20 & 21) and they are usually based at Green Meadows School, Guiseley. *This includes; learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, complex health needs and more. Barca-Leeds is a community-based charity, a registered company limited by guarantee. We are an organisation that delivers transformational projects for adults, children, young people and families in Leeds, connection them with our services that respond to the needs of each individual. We help people overcome the barriers they face in fulfilling their potential by delivering advice, support and guidance, at a community and individual level. This includes people who may have complex needs and have been excluded from other services as a result. One Adoption West Yorkshire

Regional adoption agency for West Yorkshire. Providing support for families with adopted children. Our core adoption support offer includes access to specialist support groups, stay and play sessions, access to a members area on our website, training workshops and parenting help. We also have a multidisciplinary team who can help with speech and language therapy, clinical psychology, education support. We can also help adoptive families access specialist therapeutic support through the Adoption Support Fund following a needs assessment.

Interplay Theatre

Interplay Theatre tours annually to arts venues and SEN schools with sensory theatre work specifically designed for young people with complex needs. With a strong aesthetic and touching narratives, our performances give young people with PMLD the chance to experience high quality theatre in school, like other young people their age. From our theatre building in Armley, we run our community programme, LS12 Creative and we offer open days, performances, projects and sessions for young people with Additional Needs.
