Family Fund.

Family Fund provides grants to families raising disabled and seriously ill children aged 17 and under. Our grants support a family, improve their well-being, increase quality of life and ease many of the pressures they often face. We are a registered charity and the UK’s largest provider of grants to families living on low incomes who are raising disabled or seriously ill children. Our grants bring practical and essential help that is often a lifeline to a family such as washing machines, fridges, bedding, specialist toys and much-need family breaks. With limited funding we try to help as many families as we can. We use our own eligibility criteria to ensure that we only help families in the most need.  We will consider helping a family once every 12 months and will usually look at a grant application 12 months from the date of the last grant. Depending on what a family have asked for, we will award a grant in a number of different ways. We work in partnership with a range of providers who help us to make our funding go further and help us to evidence that the grant awarded is used for the purpose it is […]

Leeds CC Voice Influence and Change Team.

We champion children and young people’s right  to have a say in decisions that affect their lives. We run a range of youth voice programmes and projects to enable children and young people to develop campaigns, participate in city wide ballots and youth voice summit and share their views and priorities with decision makers. We provide advice, guidance and training to staff to develop their  skills and confidence in facilitating children, young people and parents/ carers involvement in decisions making processes. We work with different teams and services to ensure young people and parents/cares are actively involved in recruitment and selection of senior staff, commissioning services and developing city wide consultations.

Additional Needs Advice
Oily Cart.

Oily Cart is a theatre company that specialises in creating sensory shows for, with and alongside disabled young people (0-25 years) and their families. Oily Cart create remarkable, accessible sensory shows that connect with babies, toddlers, disabled children and young people, and their families. Founded over 40 years ago, in the past decades we have pioneered a whole new artform: Sensory Theatre. By pushing theatre beyond words – using not just 5, but all 33 senses – we create tactile wonderlands that meet each child where they’re at. Each sensory experience is a space to be who you are and be together, re-imagining the world as it should – and will – be. We collaborate with disabled and non-disabled artists of all ages, always considering those who experience the most barriers first. At Oily Cart we don’t tell children how they should watch the theatre. We learn from them what theatre should be.
