Afrikindness, established as a registered charity in 2023, is committed to advancing the education and social development of racially marginalized and socially excluded children and young people, empowering them to reach their full potential and thrive in society. Our key objectives are as follows: 1) Advancing Education: We equip parents and teachers with resources and support, promoting academic success and lifelong learning, so every child, regardless of race, has the tools they need to excel. 2) Social and Character Development: Through specialised programs and resources, we build resilience, empathy, and social skills, fostering strong, positive identities in young people. We champion children and young people’s right to have a say in decisions that affect their lives. We run a range of youth voice programmes and projects to enable children and young people to develop campaigns, participate in city wide ballots and youth voice summit and share their views and priorities with decision makers. We provide advice, guidance and training to staff to develop their skills and confidence in facilitating children, young people and parents/ carers involvement in decisions making processes. We work with different teams and services to ensure young people and parents/cares are actively involved in recruitment and selection of senior staff, commissioning services and developing city wide consultations.
