We aim to provide a place where parents/carers can go with their children where they can relax in a safe environment and meet other families in similar circumstances. Family Fun Days A weekend Family Fun Day out and about on a monthly basis for all the family (and our special children that have started school!) that cannot make the weekly session and because we recognise that the whole family is involved. Our goal is also to show that there are no limits to having fun!   Sport Sessions Sport sessions including Hydrotherapy with trained physiotherapists at a reduced cost so that it is accessible to all families. Hire an All Terrain Buggy To hire out all terrain buggies  to families to enable children in wheelchairs to access the beach and other tricky areas.   Hire a Travel Bed To hire out accessible and secure travel beds to families to enable children who need a safer bed to visit family or to go on holiday.   Counselling Counselling support for parents and carers who might need a listening ear, support and a safe place, or just let of steam about anything which troubles you. AWARE

Airedale & Wharfedale Autism Resource (AWARE) is a support group for families affected by autism. We produce a monthly newsletter, provide e-updates throughout the month and have a very active closed facebook group for members. We hold parents’ and carers’ meetings with knowledgeable speakers, regular socials including dads’ meet-ups and parent training courses. We also run lots of events for children, young people and their families including a weekly youth club; holiday play schemes; monthly cookery club and trip club for teenagers with autism; moving-on club for 18-25’s; residential short breaks for children 8-18 years and family residentials. We run our events in Airedale, Wharfedale and Bradford. We are open to any family whether their child has a formal diagnosis or not and from any area;  however due to funding some of our services are only available to children from a particular authority. We ask families to join which is £15/year and this can be done on our website https://aware-uk.org
